2010 United Way Day of Caring Food Drive

Friday, September 10th

Demand at area food pantries continues to rise with most pantries experiencing a more than 30% increase compared to two years ago.
Food Drive Collection Sites:
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, September 10th at:
• Peoria Civic Center (parking lot, corner of Kumpf and Jefferson)
• Market Square in Pekin (corner of Court and Parkway)
In addition, shoppers at HyVee can make donations on:
• September 8 and 9 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• September 10 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

CENTRAL ILLINOIS DIVERSITY BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY EVENT

 The event will provide minority and women owned business enterprises regional exposure to current purchasing needs, diversity certification processes and new technologies while networking with Central Illinois business and procurement professionals.

The 30th Annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast was a wonderful event.  Father Peter Gallagher, Chaplain for the Indianapolis Colts, was the featured speaker.  Rachel West-Kramer provided the entertainment.

Ambassador of the Month...Rosann Wilson! Congratulations to Rosann who has been chosen as the Ambassador of the Month.  Rosann is married and has three children and four grandchildren.  Rosann loves skiing!  Rosann ended up in the hospitality industry because she loves hospitality and the hotel business provides that avenue.  She also loves the teamwork with the employees as well as different guests every day.  Rosann says it's important to always be of service to your customers.  http://www.sleepinn.com/hotel-washington-illinois-IL310
