  • Miller, Hall & Triggs, LLC announces the following attorneys have become partners in their firm:  M. Curt Richardson and Christopher D. Oswald.  They also welcome back their associate from recently serving our country in Iraq:  Kenneth C. Baker.
  • Bard Optical welcomes new CFO:  Michael Renner joined Bard Optical on February 1st.  Mike brings 20 years experience in commercial banking and 7 years as CFO of a manufacturing company.  He received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN and his MBA from Bradley University in Peoria.  Mike's responsibilities at Bard involve handling financial affairs of the organization, including the preparation of financial reports and overseeing the financial plans and policies.  When Mike's not crunching numbers, he enjoys spending time with his family and watching Indiana sporting events. 
  • Diana Hall, President and Mike Renner, CFO of Bard Optical were recently the guests of VSP for the Transitions Championship Golf tournament in Florida.  The event was attended by VSP organizations from around the country and focused on the relationship between Transitions and VSP and their support of this golf tournament and the promotion of "Healthy Sight in Every Light." 
  • PSA-Dewberry welcomes James Kemper as Design Director for their Peoria office.  His award-winning projects include the Markin Family Student Recreation Center at Bradley University, 401 Water Street Bu8ilding Renovation, Niles Police Station, and the University of Illinois at Chicago West Campus Recreation Center.

  • Corey Moodie, Senior Microsoft & IT Engineer at Pearl Technology of Peoria Heights has completed his Certified Ethical Hacker certification examination process.  As an Ethical Hacker, Moodie is qualified to undertake attempts to penetrate networks and computer systems using the same methods as a hacker, but as a tool to help businesses improve and refine their information technology security initiatives.  Although hacking is a felony in the United States and most other countries, it is legal and useful as a security-enhancing resource when performed by an Ethical Hacker for an organization. 
  • Barrack's Hospitality Group has announced that they were selected as one of five finalists for the national ACE Award for the Midwest Region.  ACE stands for Achievement in Catering Excellence.  The annual Catersource ACE Award recognizes the companies that have shown noteworthy achievement in the catering industry through culinary, business, community and professional development.  Five winners are chosen each year to represent the best of the best in each of five geographic regions:  Midwest, South, East, West and International.  The finalists and award recipients were recognized in front of 4000 attendees at the annual Catersource Catering Conference, which was held in Las Vegas, March 7-11, 2010. 
  • RE/MAX Associates at RE/MAX Unlimited have been supporters of Children's Miracle Network for over 20 years and have made regular donations to the children's charity.  $100 million dollars has been raised over the past 18 years for Children's Miracle Network, which raises funds for more than 170 pediatric hospitals.  In doing so, RE/MAX became one of the top three Children's Miracle Network donors of all time.

  • Proctor Hospital, in association with BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois' Services in the Neighborhood program, offers a free Medicare Help Desk the fourth Wednesday of every month, from 9-11 a.m. in the Lobby at Proctor Hospital.  The next scheduled Medicare Help Desk will be Wednesday, April 28th.  If you, or someone you know, have questions, stop by the Help Desk.   • The Echocardiography team at OSF Saint Francis Heart Hospital and HeartCare Midwest has been awarded certification for the Stress and Adult Echo programs from the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL). 
  • The OSF Saint Francis Medical Exercise Program, located at the RiverPlex, 600 NE Water Street in Peoria, is making enhancements in programming to meet the unique needs of the older adults in the community.   • As part of the 2010 Illinois State Society of Radiologic Technologists annual conference, vascular surgeons Drs. Syed Hussain and Nabeel Rana, of Heartcare Midwest, will perform a live ELG procedure from OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria on Thursday, April 15th from 8-10 a.m. at the OSF Saint Francis Heart Hospital Cardiology Lab.

  • In a recent memo to Executives of OSF Healthcare System, Sister Judith Ann, O.S.F. announced that current CEO, James Moore will be retiring February 28, 2011 and Kevin Schoeplein will be succeeding him.  "Mr. Moore will continue to serve as CEO as well as the Vice Chairperson for all of our OSF Boards of Directors through next February.  In the meantime, Kevin will continue in his role as Executive Vice President for OSF Healthcare System focusing on our strategic direction.  Additionally, Kevin will also still serve as President of OSF Saint Francis, Inc. and President of OSF Healthcare Foundation for the next 11 months."  Kevin earned his B.S.B.A. Degree from St. Louis University and two masters' degrees from Xavier University in Cincinnati - an M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance and an M.H.A. 
  • Methodist Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs Rick Anderson, MD has announced a series of updates to the Methodist Medical Group organizational structure.  Joan Golemon, MD has been appointed Medical Director of the Methodist Family Medical Center. Stephanie Lindstrom, MD has been named Medical Director-Rural Health/Primary Care.  John Miller, MD has been named Medical Director of Methodist North Allen Road Family Medicine and Pediatrics.  Brian Cohen, MD has accepted the position of Medical Director-Specialty Care for the Methodist Medical Group.  Tony Dawalibi, DO has been named Medical Director-Primary Care/MedPointes.  Gregory Johnson, MD has accepted the position of Medical Director-Growth and Innovation.  Keith Knepp, MD has been named Chief Medical Informatics Officer.  Alex Adler, MD is now Medical Director for Methodist Medical Group Cardiology.

  • Legacy Insurance Agency of Illinois announces the addition of Marti Monckton as a Sales Representative.  Marti has 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, 12 of them being in the individual and group health marketplace.  Marti is the current Director of Education for the Illinois State Association of Health Underwriters, and was a past President.
  • Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois will hold the grand opening of its new Pekin location on Saturday, April 10th.  The move to the new location makes Goodwill's Pekin store its largest!  The store is located at 3245 Court Street in Pekin.  Hours are Monday - Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
